About Spring Bathrooms
Population: ~60,000
Spring is a diverse community in north Harris County that includes everything from ranch-style homes built in the 1970s to brand-new construction in master-planned developments like Spring Trails and Harmony. This variety means EZ Bath handles a wide range of bathroom remodeling projects here—from gut renovations in older homes that need updated plumbing and layouts to cosmetic upgrades in newer homes where homeowners want to replace builder-grade finishes with something more personal.
In the Klein and Champions areas, we frequently remodel bathrooms in homes built during the 1980s and 1990s. These projects often involve removing old cultured marble vanity tops, replacing worn-out tub-shower combos, and updating tile that has seen better days. Our full remodels in these neighborhoods typically include new tile showers with frameless glass, modern vanities with quartz countertops, and updated lighting and fixtures.
Newer Spring communities like Harmony and Spring Trails have homes with large master bathrooms that were finished with basic materials. Homeowners in these neighborhoods often request tub-to-shower conversions, upgraded vanities, and custom tile work that gives their bathroom a more polished, high-end feel. These upgrades also add real value to the home, which matters in Spring's competitive real estate market.
EZ Bath is conveniently located to serve the entire Spring area, and our team knows the local building requirements and neighborhood standards. We offer free in-home consultations where we measure your space, discuss options, and provide a clear, honest quote. Get started today and see why Spring homeowners trust EZ Bath for quality bathroom remodeling.
Local to Spring
Why we're actually local here
Spring is effectively our backyard. Our shop on Timber Tech Lane in Tomball is roughly 15 minutes west of Klein, and our crews are on this side of 249 most weeks regardless of where else we are working.
That closeness shows up in the numbers. After Houston itself, Spring is where we have completed more documented projects than anywhere else — more than in our own city. It is not a service area we expanded into; it is the neighborhood we grew up working in.
The practical version: same-week consultations are normal here, material samples come to your kitchen table rather than arriving as a catalog, and if something needs attention after a project wraps we can be back out without it becoming a scheduling exercise.

Local Conditions
What Spring water and soil do to a bathroom
The single most useful thing to understand about remodeling a bathroom in Spring is that there are really two Springs, and which one you live in determines almost everything about the job.
The older Spring. Klein and Champions are largely 1970s and 1980s construction. What we find here is consistent: cultured marble vanity tops at the end of their life, fiberglass tub-shower combos that have gone chalky, original tile that has earned its retirement, and — the one that surprises people — deteriorating cast iron drain lines. Homes of this vintage across the north Houston suburbs were plumbed with cast iron that is now at or past its service life, and we would rather raise the possibility before demo than discover it behind a wall on day two.
The newer Spring. Harmony, Spring Trails and the newer sections along the Grand Parkway are 2000s and 2010s construction with the opposite profile: sound plumbing, builder-grade finishes people are ready to outgrow, and post-tension slabs. In those homes, changing the layout means cutting into a foundation with steel cables under tension, which is covered in our guide to post-tension cables in Houston homes. Staying within the existing footprint is far simpler and cheaper.
Both Springs share the water. Municipal utility districts out here draw on the Gulf Coast Aquifer, and that groundwater runs harder than the surface water serving Houston proper — mineral film on glass, scale around fixtures, and a steady argument for grout-free surfaces you can wipe rather than scrub. Both also sit on the same Gulf Coast clay, which moves seasonally and is the reason rigid tile floors develop hairline cracks over a decade.
Permits
Permits in Spring
Spring sits across a county line, and that is the detail worth knowing before you get quotes.
There is no City of Spring — the whole area is unincorporated, so permitting runs through the county rather than a municipal department. But which county depends on your address: most of Spring is in Harris County, while the northern edge runs into Montgomery County, and the 77380 area shades toward The Woodlands. Those are two separate authorities with their own requirements, and a contractor who assumes Harris County for every Spring job will eventually file in the wrong place.
As a general matter, work that stays inside the existing footprint is less likely to require a permit than work that moves drains, relocates fixtures, or alters framing and electrical. That is a rule of thumb rather than a determination for your address.
We do not pull permits by default and we do not confirm requirements on your behalf unless asked. Raise it at your consultation and we will pull the right one from the right county and price it into the quote rather than surfacing it mid-project. Extensive or complex electrical and plumbing work brings in licensed trades for that portion.

Questions
Spring bathroom remodeling FAQ
How close is EZ Bath to Spring?
About 15 minutes. Our shop is on Timber Tech Lane in Tomball, just west of Klein, and our crews are on this side of 249 most weeks. After Houston, Spring is where we have completed more documented projects than anywhere else — including our own city.
How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Spring?
It depends heavily on which Spring you live in. A 1970s or 80s Klein or Champions home may need plumbing work that a 2010s Harmony home does not, and that difference outweighs square footage. Tub-to-shower conversions start at $7,500, and every Spring homeowner gets a free in-home estimate itemizing fixtures, surfaces, labor and disposal separately.
Do I need a permit to remodel a bathroom in Spring?
There is no City of Spring, so permitting runs through the county — but which county depends on your address. Most of Spring is Harris County while the northern edge runs into Montgomery County. Confirming what your scope requires is the homeowner's responsibility; raise it at your consultation and we will pull the right permit from the right authority and price it in.
What should I expect in an older Klein or Champions bathroom?
Cultured marble vanity tops at the end of their life, chalky fiberglass tub-shower combos, and dated tile are the usual list. The one that surprises people is cast iron drain lines — homes of that vintage across the north Houston suburbs were plumbed with cast iron that is now at or past its service life. We raise the possibility before demo rather than after.
Can you change the layout in a newer Harmony or Spring Trails home?
Sometimes, but newer construction out here typically sits on post-tension slabs with steel cables under tension running through the foundation. Cutting into one to relocate a drain is a structural and safety issue rather than a routine change. We check what you have before quoting any layout change, and staying within the existing footprint is usually far simpler and cheaper.
Does EZ Bath install tub liners in Spring?
No. We do not install tub liners or refinish tubs, and we will not market a surface overlay as a remodel. In older Klein and Champions homes especially, the substrate underneath is often exactly the thing that needs attention — covering it hides the problem. We do full tub replacements and grout-free acrylic wall surrounds over a sound existing tub.
