From Cramped Bathtub to Luxurious Walk-In Shower in Tomball

When our Tomball clients called EZ Bath, they were ready for a major bathroom upgrade. Their existing bathroom featured a basic built-in bathtub with a simple shower enclosure—a dated setup that didn't match their vision for a modern, spa-like retreat. They wanted to maximize their space with a spacious walk-in shower, upgrade the fixtures, and create a contemporary aesthetic that would transform their daily routine. We were excited to take on this complete bathroom renovation.

The Transformation

Our team began by carefully demolishing the old bathtub and shower area. This wasn't just a simple swap—we had to reconfigure the layout entirely. The existing plumbing required repositioning to accommodate the new walk-in shower's larger footprint and frameless glass enclosure. We removed the old tile work and prepared the walls for a fresh installation. The bathroom's layout was optimized to create an open, airy feel that would make the space feel larger and more luxurious than before.

During construction, we installed all new plumbing for the shower system, including updated supply lines and drainage. We then applied fresh cement backer board and installed beautiful large-format gray and white tile throughout the shower surround. The installation included built-in niches for storage—a practical addition that keeps toiletries organized without cluttering the space. New shower fixtures were installed with a modern chrome finish, including a rainfall showerhead and a handheld spray option, giving the homeowners flexibility and comfort.

The Finished Result

The completed bathroom is nothing short of stunning. The centerpiece is the expansive walk-in shower featuring a black base pan and a sleek frameless glass enclosure that showcases the beautiful tilework within. The shower surround displays a modern geometric tile pattern in soft grays with subtle variation, creating visual interest without overwhelming the senses. A spacious corner shelf provides convenient storage, while the large window brings in abundant natural light and creates a connection to the outdoors.

Beyond the shower, the bathroom received other key upgrades. The flooring features attractive wood-look tile that spans the entire bathroom, creating continuity and warmth. The space now includes proper ventilation and updated lighting that complements the contemporary design. Every detail—from the chrome fixtures to the clean lines of the glass enclosure to the carefully selected tile—speaks to a cohesive, modern aesthetic that feels both timeless and current.
