From Cramped Dated Bath to Luxurious Walk-In Shower in Porter

When our client called EZ Bath about their master bathroom in Porter, Texas, they were ready for a major change. The existing bathroom featured an older garden tub and shower combination that felt cramped and outdated. The walls were showing their age, the fixtures were worn, and the overall layout didn't maximize the space effectively. Our client envisioned a spa-like retreat with a spacious walk-in shower, modern finishes, and a layout that would make better use of their master bath. The Transformation

The renovation began with complete demolition of the old shower/tub combo unit. Our team carefully removed the dated fixtures, old tile work, and damaged framing. We discovered some moisture issues in the wall structure that needed attention—common in older bathrooms—so we replaced compromised drywall and insulation to ensure a solid, moisture-resistant foundation. The plumbing required significant rerouting to accommodate the new walk-in shower layout and to bring everything up to current building codes. Once the space was stripped down to the studs and we confirmed the structure was sound, we installed fresh framing, new drywall, and began the installation of the new shower system. A level tool was essential for ensuring the new shower pan was perfectly even—critical for proper drainage and long-term performance.

The Finished Result

The completed master bathroom is a stunning transformation. The centerpiece is an elegant walk-in shower with a frameless glass enclosure that creates an open, airy feel. Inside, crisp white subway tile covers the walls with beautiful marble-look patterned tile accents, giving it a high-end spa aesthetic. The shower features a brushed nickel showerhead and fixtures that complement the contemporary design. The flooring throughout the bathroom is finished with light neutral tile that ties the space together seamlessly.
