From Cramped Shower to Spa-Like Oasis: A Houston Bathroom Transformation

When our client first contacted EZ Bath, her Houston bathroom felt outdated and uninviting. The shower featured an older glass enclosure with a traditional setup that didn't maximize the space effectively. She envisioned a modern, luxurious retreat—a spa-like bathroom with clean lines, premium finishes, and a spacious walk-in shower that would become the centerpiece of her home. She wanted to completely reimagine the space with contemporary styling and high-end materials that would stand the test of time.

The Transformation

Our team began the project with a complete demolition of the existing shower enclosure and surrounding areas. This wasn't just a cosmetic update—we performed significant structural work to optimize the shower layout and improve plumbing infrastructure. The old shower was completely removed, and we reconfigured the space to accommodate a larger, more functional walk-in design. New plumbing was installed to support multiple shower heads and modern fixtures, and we ensured proper waterproofing throughout the wet area to prevent any future issues.

The walls were prepared with fresh cement board and waterproofing membranes before tiling began. Our tile team carefully installed beautiful marble-look porcelain tile throughout the shower surround, creating a cohesive, elegant aesthetic. The flooring received matching marble-patterned tiles, seamlessly connecting the bathroom space. New recessed lighting was added to the ceiling, providing bright, even illumination throughout the newly redesigned room. A large window was maintained to bring in natural light, and all fixtures were upgraded to modern, brushed nickel hardware.

The Finished Result

The completed bathroom is nothing short of spectacular. The walk-in shower features floor-to-ceiling marble-look tile in soft gray and white tones, creating a serene, spa-like atmosphere. The shower is enclosed with frameless glass enclosure panels that maintain sightlines and make the space feel even larger. Inside, we installed a rainfall showerhead mounted on the ceiling, complemented by body spray fixtures positioned on the side walls—allowing our client to customize her shower experience.

The vanity area features rich, dark countertops that beautifully contrast the light tile work. Brushed nickel fixtures and hardware throughout provide a cohesive, modern aesthetic. The recessed ceiling lights cast a warm glow across the space, and the large window frames natural light, making the bathroom feel bright and open. Every detail was carefully considered—from the tile layout and grout color to the fixture placement and lighting design.

The renovation completely transformed this bathroom from a dated, cramped space into a modern retreat that our client absolutely loves. The shower area is now spacious and luxurious, the finishes are premium and timeless, and the overall design creates the spa-like atmosphere she envisioned.
