From Cramped Fiberglass to Spacious Modern Shower in Hitchcock

When our clients reached out to EZ Bath, their master bathroom was crying out for an update. The dated fiberglass shower enclosure had seen better days, with visible wear, staining, and an overall cramped feeling that made the space feel more utilitarian than relaxing. The homeowners wanted to transform their shower into a modern, clean, and spacious retreat—a place where they could start and end their days in comfort. They envisioned bright, contemporary finishes and a layout that would make better use of their bathroom space.

The Transformation

Our team at EZ Bath began by completely demolishing the old fiberglass shower unit and removing all dated fixtures and hardware. This wasn't just a cosmetic refresh—we had to carefully assess the framing, plumbing, and structural integrity of the walls. Once we removed the old enclosure, we discovered the underlying wooden framing and found areas that needed reinforcement and protection. We installed new plumbing lines and ensured proper waterproofing throughout the shower cavity to prevent future moisture issues. The walls were prepped meticulously, with new studs and blocking installed where necessary to support the new fixtures and tile work. New drain lines were run to code, and all plumbing connections were secured and tested before we moved forward with finishing materials.

The Finished Result

The completed shower is a stunning transformation. Crisp white subway tile covers the walls in a classic, timeless pattern that brightens the entire space and creates a clean, spa-like aesthetic. The new chrome fixtures—including an overhead rain showerhead and handheld shower wand—are modern and sleek, offering multiple showering options and a premium feel. A matching chrome caddy keeps bath essentials organized and within easy reach. The flooring features matching white tile with proper slope toward the drain to ensure excellent water management. The new shower enclosure is bright, airy, and significantly larger than the old fiberglass unit, making the bathroom feel more spacious overall.

Beyond just the shower, the entire bathroom now feels fresh and updated. The contrast between the before and after photos tells the complete story—from a tired, cramped space to a modern, functional bathroom that the homeowners will enjoy for years to come.
