From Cramped Bathtub to Spa-Like Walk-In Shower in Cypress

When our clients in Cypress came to EZ Bath, they were ready for a change. Their master bathroom featured an outdated alcove bathtub with a basic tile surround and limited shower functionality. The space felt cramped and dated, lacking the spa-like atmosphere they wanted for their daily routines. They envisioned a modern walk-in shower that would maximize their bathroom's potential while adding contemporary style and functionality to their home.

The Transformation

Our team at EZ Bath got to work demolishing the existing bathtub and shower enclosure. The old setup was completely removed, revealing the bare walls and plumbing infrastructure underneath. We reconfigured the layout to create a spacious walk-in shower in place of the old tub, which required careful plumbing adjustments to accommodate the new drain placement and water lines. The walls were prepped and waterproofed to ensure a solid foundation for the new tile installation.

The construction process involved:

  • Complete demolition of the existing bathtub and tile surround
  • Structural modifications to optimize the shower footprint
  • New plumbing rough-in for the walk-in shower configuration
  • Installation of waterproofing membranes on all shower walls
  • Professional tile layout and installation throughout the enclosure
  • Fitting and installation of new shower fixtures and hardware

The Finished Result

The completed master bath is a stunning transformation. The new walk-in shower features elegant marble-look porcelain tile covering all interior walls, creating a luxurious and sophisticated aesthetic. The light gray veining in the tile adds visual interest and depth while maintaining a clean, modern appearance. A frameless glass shower door with brushed nickel hardware provides a sleek entrance and maximizes the visual openness of the shower space.

The shower includes a rainfall showerhead mounted on the ceiling, creating that spa-like experience our clients desired. The floor is finished with matching tile and a discrete drain, maintaining the seamless design aesthetic. The shower sits adjacent to the updated bathtub area, which retains its soaking functionality for those occasions when a bath is preferred. New fixtures throughout coordinate beautifully with the marble-look tile, creating a cohesive and upscale appearance.

The transformation exceeded our clients' expectations. What was once a dated, cramped bathing area is now a serene retreat that feels like a high-end spa. The marble-look tile gives the space an elegant, timeless quality, while the modern fixtures and generous walk-in shower make daily use a pleasure. The improved layout also enhanced the overall flow of the master bathroom.
