From Basic Bathtub to Luxury Walk-In Shower in Coldspring

When our clients reached out to EZ Bath, their Coldspring bathroom told a story of dated fixtures and limited functionality. The space featured an older bathtub-shower combination with basic white subway tile walls, minimal storage, and plumbing fixtures that had seen better days. The homeowners envisioned a modern, spa-like retreat with a spacious walk-in shower, contemporary finishes, and the kind of quality craftsmanship that transforms a daily routine into a luxury experience. They trusted EZ Bath to bring that vision to life.

The Transformation

Our team began with a complete demolition of the existing bathtub and shower surround. We carefully removed the old plumbing fixtures, including the existing showerhead and valve, and extracted the dated tub to open up the space for a larger, more modern shower enclosure. The bathroom's layout required thoughtful replumbing—we repositioned water lines to accommodate dual showerheads and installed new in-wall plumbing for the shower valve and controls. The floor was prepared for a new base, setting the stage for the complete aesthetic overhaul.

Once the structural work was complete, we installed beautiful large-format porcelain tile throughout the shower surround, selecting a sophisticated gray marble-look pattern that conveys both elegance and durability. This tile choice became the visual anchor of the entire project. We installed a full ceiling of matching tile to create a cohesive, high-end appearance. New chrome fixtures were positioned strategically—a rainfall showerhead at the ceiling, a lower showerhead mounted on the wall, and matching controls that blend function with contemporary style. Two recessed niches were built into the shower walls, providing practical storage for toiletries while maintaining clean sight lines.

The Finished Result

The completed shower is nothing short of spectacular. The large-format marble-look porcelain tile wraps the entire space in sophisticated gray tones with subtle veining that catches light beautifully throughout the day. The dual showerhead setup—featuring both a rainfall option and a traditional wall-mounted head—gives the homeowners flexibility and luxury they didn't have before. Polished chrome fixtures provide a striking contrast against the tile, and the recessed storage niches eliminate clutter while adding architectural interest.

The layout now features a spacious, walk-in shower design that feels open and inviting rather than cramped. The new plumbing work runs smoothly behind the walls, delivering excellent water pressure from both showerheads. The entire surround, from floor to ceiling, is tiled for a seamless, premium appearance that feels resort-quality.
