Complete Bathroom Transformation: Walk-In Shower Installation in Tomball

When our team at EZ Bath arrived at this Tomball home, we found a traditional bathroom setup that needed a modern upgrade. The homeowner wanted to replace the existing bathtub with a spacious, accessible walk-in shower—a popular choice among Houston-area homeowners looking to maximize functionality and create a spa-like retreat. The existing bathroom featured standard tile work and a conventional tub-shower combo that didn't meet the homeowner's vision for their daily routine.

The Transformation

Our demolition phase required careful planning and execution. We completely removed the existing bathtub and surround, then opened up the walls to assess the plumbing and structural requirements. The shower installation demanded precision work—we installed new framing, waterproofing membranes, and rough-in plumbing for the shower valve and drainage system. Two wall openings were cut for the shower fixtures, ensuring proper water delivery and accessibility. The team carefully protected the rest of the bathroom during this phase, using blue painter's tape to maintain clean lines and protect adjacent surfaces.

Once the structural work was complete, we installed new drywall and prepared the surfaces for the final finishes. The layout change required repositioning plumbing lines and ensuring proper slope for drainage—critical details that separate a quality remodel from a mediocre one. Our licensed plumbers verified all connections and tested the system before moving forward with tile work.
