From Cramped Shower to Luxurious Walk-In Spa in Magnolia

When our clients in Magnolia first contacted EZ Bath, they were ready for a change. Their existing bathroom featured a compact, outdated shower enclosure that felt cramped and dated. The vanity was serviceable but uninspired, and the overall layout left much to be desired. What they wanted was a modern, spacious walk-in shower with contemporary styling and the kind of elegant finishes that would transform their daily routine into a spa-like experience. Our team was excited to take on this complete bathroom remodel.

The Transformation

The demolition phase revealed what we often find in older bathrooms: the shower area was undersized and structurally limiting. We removed the old shower enclosure completely and began the careful work of reconfiguring the space. This required rerouting plumbing lines, relocating the water supply, and installing a completely new drain system to accommodate a larger, more luxurious walk-in shower. The framing work was substantial—we opened up the wall to reposition fixtures and create a more open, inviting shower space. New studs and blocking were installed to support the heavy tile work and ensure a solid, long-lasting installation.

Once the structural work was complete, we proceeded with the tile installation. The new shower features large-format porcelain tile in a sophisticated gray-brown palette with subtle texture and variation that mimics natural stone. The tile covers all walls and the floor, creating a seamless, high-end look. We installed two shower heads—an overhead rainfall showerhead and a side-mounted spray—both finished in sleek matte black to complement the modern aesthetic. A matching black grab bar was also installed for safety and style. A built-in niche was incorporated into one wall, providing convenient storage for shower essentials while maintaining the clean lines of the design.

The Finished Result

The completed bathroom is nothing short of stunning. The new walk-in shower is the undisputed centerpiece—spacious, bright, and finished with premium materials throughout. The large-format tiles create a sophisticated, minimalist look that feels contemporary without being trendy. The matte black fixtures provide excellent contrast against the warm-toned tile and add a touch of modern luxury. The dual showerhead setup gives the homeowner flexibility and luxury, whether they prefer the gentle cascade of the rainfall head or the targeted pressure of the side spray.

The wooden vanity cabinets visible in the before photos have been complemented by the new spa-like shower experience, creating a cohesive, high-end atmosphere throughout the entire space.
