When our team at EZ Bath first walked into this Humble, Texas bathroom, we knew we had our work cut out for us. The space featured an older bathtub surround that had seen better days, outdated fixtures, and—most strikingly—boarded-up windows where glass panes should have been. The homeowner was ready for a complete transformation: they wanted a fresh, modern bathroom with proper ventilation, updated tile work, and a bright, clean aesthetic. What had been a dreary space filled with wood planks and deteriorating finishes was about to become a spa-like retreat.

The Transformation

Our demolition phase was thorough. We removed the old boarded-up window unit and the surrounding deteriorated frame, opening up the space to natural light and better air circulation. The existing bathtub surround came out completely, along with outdated plumbing fixtures and worn tile work. We carefully assessed the wall structure and made necessary adjustments to accommodate the new window installation and updated plumbing lines for modern fixtures. The old window frames and blocking materials were stripped away, revealing the original wall structure and giving us a clean slate to work with.

Once the demolition was complete, we installed a new, properly functioning transom window with multiple panes at the top of the tub surround. This wasn't just about aesthetics—it provides excellent ventilation, natural light, and a critical safety upgrade from the boarded condition. We then installed fresh tile work throughout, creating clean lines and a cohesive look that modernizes the entire space.

The Finished Result

The completed bathroom is a stunning contrast to its former self. The focal point is the new bathtub area, now surrounded by attractive neutral-toned tile with a contemporary layout. The new transom window sits prominently above, allowing natural light to flood the space and featuring multiple glass panes that are both functional and visually appealing.
