When our clients in Katy reached out to EZ Bath, they had a clear vision: transform their outdated bathroom into a modern, spa-like retreat. The existing layout featured a standard bathtub positioned prominently in the room, paired with basic tile work and limited functionality. They wanted to maximize the space with a spacious walk-in shower featuring modern fixtures and high-quality materials that would elevate their daily routine. The Transformation

Our team at EZ Bath started with a complete demolition of the existing bathtub and surrounding area. We carefully removed the old plumbing infrastructure and prepared the space for a ground-level shower installation. The most significant structural change involved relocating the plumbing lines—visible in our progress photos—to accommodate the new shower base positioned strategically in the corner of the bathroom. We installed fresh wooden framing and carefully routed both hot water (red line) and cold water (blue line) supplies, along with the drain system, to support the new fixture layout. The precision required in this phase was critical to ensure proper water flow and drainage. Once the rough plumbing was complete, we began the meticulous tile installation, creating a waterproofed shower enclosure that would stand the test of time.

The Finished Result

The completed bathroom is nothing short of stunning. The focal point is a spacious, frameless glass walk-in shower enclosed with elegant frosted glass doors and brushed nickel hardware. The shower interior features neutral-toned ceramic tile with a sophisticated pattern that provides both visual interest and excellent water management. A matching tile surround extends up the walls, creating a cohesive, upscale aesthetic that feels more like a luxury hotel bathroom than a typical home shower.

The shower is equipped with modern chrome plumbing fixtures including a sleek showerhead and handheld spray wand, offering flexibility and comfort. A convenient grab bar has been integrated for safety without compromising the contemporary design. Adjacent to the shower sits an elegant soaking tub with polished chrome fixtures, providing the homeowners with options—whether they prefer an invigorating shower or a relaxing soak.
