When our client first contacted EZ Bath, their master bathroom featured a large, dated soaking tub that dominated the space—a fixture that no longer matched their lifestyle or aesthetic preferences. The bathroom had good bones, but it felt tired and uninspiring, with plain walls and minimal storage solutions. The homeowner wanted to transform this underutilized space into a modern, spa-like shower experience that would add both functionality and contemporary style to their Houston home.

The Transformation

Our team began the project with complete demolition of the existing soaking tub and surrounding structure. This wasn't just about removing fixtures—we had to carefully assess and update the plumbing infrastructure to accommodate the new layout. The old tub's platform and deck were completely removed, creating a blank canvas for our design. We then framed out the new shower area, ensuring proper drainage and structural support for the glass enclosure and new tile work.

Once the rough-in plumbing was complete, we installed a custom-built soaking tub base that serves as the foundation for the new walk-in shower. The walls were prepared with waterproofing membranes to ensure long-term durability. Our team then installed beautiful subway-style tile in a soft sage green throughout the shower walls—a color that creates a calming, spa-like atmosphere while complementing the neutral bathroom tones. LED recessed lighting was integrated into the ceiling to provide bright, modern illumination and showcase the new tilework.

The walk-in shower features a frameless glass enclosure that creates an open, airy feel while maintaining full functionality. The interior showcases the coordinated sage green subway tile pattern that covers all three walls, creating visual continuity and a cohesive design. The new soaking tub base creates clean lines and a contemporary aesthetic, while the surrounding tile work extends down to a polished concrete or finished floor that complements the overall design. The bathroom lighting has been upgraded with modern recessed fixtures that illuminate the space evenly. The white walls, updated door hardware, and fresh white trim work tie the entire space together in a sophisticated, minimalist style.
