Allow for two separate stages: custom manufacturing and installation. Our custom materials typically take 8–11 weeks to arrive after ordering. Once they are in, the office calls to schedule. As a planning rule, allow about one installation week per $10,000 of scope; your designer confirms the schedule for your bathroom. Custom glass typically follows 7–10 days after the shower is complete.
A tub-to-shower conversion typically takes two to three days. The additional time accounts for removing the bathtub, modifying the plumbing, installing a new shower base, and building out the new surround. If the conversion involves changes to the drain location or significant plumbing work, add another day or two.
A full bathroom remodel — which includes gutting the space and replacing everything from the floor to the ceiling — generally takes two to four weeks depending on the complexity. Custom tile work, vanity installation, electrical changes, and plumbing modifications all add time. The most time-consuming element is usually tile: a fully tiled shower with intricate patterns can take a skilled tile setter a full week by itself.
What delays projects? Material availability is the most common culprit. If a specific fixture or glass panel is back-ordered, the entire schedule can shift. That is why we recommend finalizing your selections early and ordering as soon as possible. Unexpected discoveries behind the walls — water damage, outdated plumbing, mold — can also extend the timeline, though these are situations where taking extra time is absolutely the right call.
How can you minimize disruption? If your home has a second bathroom, plan to use it exclusively during the remodel. Clear out all personal items from the bathroom before work begins to save the crew time on day one. And communicate openly with your remodeler about any scheduling constraints — if you have guests coming in three weeks, let us know upfront so we can plan accordingly.
